Haeata Food Service is open 11am – 1pm daily for a takeaway food bag.

Family Food Parcels can be collected from the Mission’s Distribution Centre,
from Monday to Saturday between 9am – 3pm. Call 09 303 9200 to request a food parcel and find out how and where to pick up.

HEALTH SERVICES – CALDER CENTRE

If you need to see a doctor, you need to phone 09 303 9207 to make an appointment. Do not go to the Calder Centre without an appointment as you will be turned away unless you need a flu injection or Covid 19 testing

Mission Pharmacy is operating and will provide medication to Calder Centre patients.

WINZ BENEFITS — All WINZ offices are closed.

  • If you need a Benefit, please call 0800 559 009 to register.
    Keep hanging on and if you get cut off, call them again. They WILL eventually answer.
  • If you’re already getting the Benefit, don’t worry, you’ll still receive your regular benefit payments.
  • If you’re already getting Jobseeker Support, Sole Parent Support or Support Living Payment, you don’t need to provide another medical certificate at this stage.
  • If you’re already getting Disability Allowance or Child Disability Allowance, you don’t need to do anything – you’ll still get paid.
  • Special Benefits won’t expire during the lockdown period.
  • You can’t and don’t need to visit WINZ for any obligatory check-ins.

A message to people who are sleeping rough about self-isolation during COVID-19

If you have symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, are over 70 years old, or have any health issues we can support you for self-isolation while COVID-19 Alert Level 4 is active.

Our Street Reach Outreach team can help you get somewhere to stay immediately. We will help you get there, and will provide support for you.

Merge Cafe is closed, but every day at 10am our Street Reach Team will be outside the cafe for you to talk to.

What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It’s caused by a virus called coronavirus. There are simple steps you can take to protect you and your family/whānau.

Symptoms of COVID-19

  • a cough
  • a high temperature (at least 38*C)
  • shortness of breath

These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have COVID-19. The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu.

How to protect yourself and others

Stay two metres away from other people

No physical contact with others, including hugs and hongi Cough or sneeze into your elbow or by covering your mouth and nose with tissues

Put used tissues in the bin or a bag immediately

Wash your hands with soap and water often

Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell

Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
