Tōku Whānau is a 12-week whānau-led and strengths based programme for parents who have experienced family harm.

Tōku Whānau – Whānau Resilience – is designed to empower, support and resource whanau to recover, heal and stay safe from further family harm.

What does Tōku Whānau offer?

Our programme is aligned to 4 significant Pou:

  • Strengthen social and community connections
  • Strengthen identity and whakapapa
  • Create healthy relationships
  • Support trauma healing and recovery from violence

  • Practical Support workshops
  • Communication skills
  • Family Harm prevention
  • Safe parenting techniques
  • Identity and Culture will feature prominently
  • Wellbeing – Te Whare Tapa Whā/Fonofale models of care
  • Financial literacy, including WINZ support where applicable
  • Whānau connection to community
  • Goal setting & future planning
