Housing First Auckland City Centre on Queen Street will remain closed on public holidays only, and is open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on other days. Business as usual from Monday 6 January.
Lifewise Merge Café and Merge Community Team on 453 Karangahape Road will remain closed between 23 December to 12 January. We will reopen on Monday 13 January.
Haven, the Time Out/Chill Out pilot project at Merge Café, 453 Karangahape Road, will continue to run through the holiday period as follows:
- Friday evenings: 6pm til 10pm
- Saturdays: 10am til 10pm
- Sundays: 10am til 7pm
If you need additional help during this period, please contact Auckland City Mission on 09-303 9200 or visit their crisis care team at 23 Union St, Auckland CBD.
To access emergency accommodation, please go direct to your nearest Work and Income office (the city centre office is at 450 Queen Street and phone 0800 559 009) for an emergency appointment or go to the Auckland City Mission for a referral to James Liston Emergency Accommodation.

Lifewise Head Office on Queen St will be closed on public holidays , and will be closing early at 12:00pm on Thursday 24th December.
Lifewise Family Services in New Lynn will be closed on public holidays only. Our on-call duty social worker will be available for urgent calls regarding foster care on all days, including public holidays. Call 09 818 6834 and choose the option to speak to the on-duty social worker.
Lifewise Early Childhood Education centres will remain closed from 20 December at 4pm. We will reopen on 8 January. If you’d like us to contact you when we’re back in the office, please write to lifewise@lifewise.org.nz.
Lifewise Homecare Services in Mt Eden will remain closed on public holidays only.
If you need to speak to someone urgently, we will be on call between 6:30am – 9:00pm, please call 09 623 7631 and press option 2.
Lifewise Rotorua Mental Health and Addictions will remain open every day throughout the Christmas period. However referral information will not be available during the public holidays.
