The law says we have to tell you things about the information we collect about you and how we use it. We’ve taken the important bits of our Client Privacy Statement and summarised them here, to help you understand more about what we’ll do with your info. We support young people throughout Aotearoa New Zealand

We only collect the info we really need

We need to collect information about you to help you. This might include your name, contact details, date of birth, gender or pronouns, information about your whānau, information about your disabilities or mental health, and information about your needs. We might need to collect information about you from other organisations or your whānau, but we’ll tell try and let you know if we have.

We only use your info to support you

We only use your information to do the things you’ve asked us to, to help and support you, and to keep you and others safe. This includes making sure we understand your situation and needs, delivering the services you ask for, staying in touch with you, and learning more about how we can help you and your community have a better future.

We only share your info with others when we really need to

It’s really important that you know you can trust us to protect your information. But sometimes we may need to share information about you with other people who want to help you, like the organisations that manage the properties you live in, community support workers, emergency services, or your whānau. We’ll only do this if we think it will help to keep you safe and well, and we’ll talk to you first if we can.

We’ll be careful about talking to your parents

We won’t share your information with your parents or guardians if we don’t think it’s in your best interests to do so. You can tell us if you’re worried about us talking to your parents or guardians.

You can talk to us about your info any time

You can ask us for a copy of your information at any time, and you can ask us to fix your information if you think it’s wrong.
