Stewart Dalley is a first-time Lifewise Big Sleepout Rough Sleeper and a solicitor at Ryken and Associates.

Stewart, who is also a member of ADLSI’s Immigration & Refugee Law Committee, is featured in the latest issue of Law News, talking about why he’s participating in the Lifewise Big Sleepout.

“The traditional approach to helping homeless people involves too many steps before people get put into long-term accommodation, including putting them in temporary housing, getting them counselling, etc.,” says Stewart.

“There are simply too many pitfalls and opportunities for people to fall out of the system and disappear again back into homelessness.

“Lifewise aims to put people straight into permanent housing – a place where they can feel safe and settled – and only then attempts to address underlying issues.”

The Lifewise Big Sleepout is on 7 July 2016.
