Family Services
Our LIFEWISE Family Services team work with children and families to provide a range of services and home-based programmes to encourage and support parents; including parenting courses, family counselling, social work, foster care and respite care.
We run six-week parenting courses regularly throughout the year. These are open to any parent looking for practical tips and parenting inspiration. The timetable for term one 2012 is now available.
Our staff work with other agencies to assist families. These agencies include: Parents Inc., West Auckland Hospice, CYFS and Waitakere Community Foodbank.
In 2010 LIFEWISE undertook research to determine how it could best support the community where LIFEWISE Family Services is based. The full report can be downloaded here. From this activity a group of 30 - 40 people, who live and work in Glen Eden, now meet together as Greater Glen Eden. The group, which includes LIFEWISE, wants to promote environmental, social, cultural and economic justice and help make Glen Eden an even greater place to live.
